I NEED this today. Musical comfort food.  CCR & Sly promised.

Meanwhile, the Drive's "Where Were You Then" page features 1977 and the comments from Driveheads (or whatever their listeners are called) are kinda sad:

http://www.wdrv.com/wwyw.php

half of them remember 1977 as a time when "we had to suffer thru all that horrible disco music" -- Jeez... let it go, folks.

I just realized that the rhythm guitar, which is going dun dun dunta dunt, is exactly the riff used in "25 or 6 to 4".

nobody doing their own singing, certainly.  Lili Taylor was once attached to a Janis project in which she would lip-sync and that would've worked IMHO.

I like the way the drums start, like out of a dream, gradually increasing in volume.   I remember Rolling Stone characterized their rhythm section as something like an old man coughing, or something.

I have to agree.  Not a rare or obscure cut by any stretch, but for whatever reason it is sounding mighty tasty this morning.

BOS2: Rascals, "Beautiful Morning".  Listening to Little Steven has given me a new appreciation of these guys.

Yep, but one of these days I hope either Bob or Dave plays "People Got To Be Free."
