Whoa, here's a head-turner--and another Bustout, Brian Setzer's big band take on Town Without Pity. BOS 4, just 'cause.

Digging the horn charts on that one--wonder who did the arrangement?

So far this has been about 50-50 between 104.5 and 105.3, which was approximatley my listening habit at the time.

Sounds like a plan.  I'll call your cell next week to coordinate deets.
Is it just you going?

Digging today's set so far.  Though if I was in a different kind of mood it probably would annoy me.  Hard to explain.

Both of the overplayed Hot AC recurrents (Dishwalla and Oasis) are probably my 2 favorite overplayed Hot AC recurrents from that year, so no problem there  ;D

Yecch, Phish, especially that one.  The Phish news clip was kinda weird too :-\

Gene Pitney (songs) still rule on 10at10!

Definitely the BSO, Mike.

Thought so.  A great song -- it was actually nominated for a Best Song Oscar, tho' it has little to do with the rather grim film (of the same name) it was written for.

WOS Brian Setzer over Phish.  I remember distinctly thinking back then when "Jump Jive N Wail" came out that big band does NOT belong in the 90s.  >:(

VHM Cake's very-much-ironic (like everything they do) take on I Will Survive. I still have trouble getting my head around the fact that John McCrea is now a Big. Rock. Star. I still picture him playing dives and opening for other local bands in various pubs around Sacto.
Let's get right to it.

Most likely bringing my son, he really wants to go to a concert & I figured this was reasonably appropriate for a 9.5 yr old.  And my wife wants me to take him, too.

BOS Garbage!  ;D (My other favorite overplayed Hot AC recurrent from this year.)

This was my very second CD (I bought it because I liked "Queer" and "Only Happy When It Rains" and was ecstatic when "Stupid Girl" got released to radio!)

and HM to Cake.

He's built his entire career on that.

I found those last two interesting as rarities, but not something to get excited about.

I can definitely give Garbage a BOS though.

More Live 105-ery: Garbage. No, the band, not a comment on it's quality.

remember when we'd get angry if Dave did a '90s set on a Friday?  This one's most entertaining, but then it's far more KITS than KFOG.  (KFOG wouldn't discover Cake for several more years.)
