'81, '83, '86, and '88 would seem to be the yet-untouched choices.

And '81 it is!

AAAAAACK! Diesel!  NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! WOS.

note misspelling of "sausolito":

Misspellings tend to happen when you write about places you don't know:

“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

Does Destroyer borrow a bassline from "All Day and All Night", and reference Lola?

Very much so.
Let's get right to it.

Wikipedia confirms:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destroyer_(The_Kinks_song)

Not just bassline, whole riff.  Right.

Yay, the set is picking up!  Still no BOS from my end but good enough to keep me listening now.  I'll admit I was amused by obscure prog rock x2.

if only Rush were as obscure fame-wise as they are lyric-wise!

OMFG!!! uber-BOS4 to a Joan Jett bustout!!  What a fabulous LP this is.

VHM Joan Jett, this song cracks me up.  I like it because the lyrics are kind silly but everything about it is coordinated so well.

I *highly* recommend this LP if you've never heard it all -- released on an indie label the year before she struck it rich with "I Love RnR".

So of course I'm late to the game, but um, what?  Joan Jett and Carmen Electra?  More so than just this video, apparently:

This is great, I'd never heard it before.  Did Joan Jett formally come out, or is she in "open secret" territory? (I've long thought she and Pink will eventually become an item.)

The video is great -- apparently the rumors about Carmen and Joan are false.  Oooh, Pink and Joan Jett, yah, that'd be hot.

(Ugh, I'm such a typical male.  :-)

News to me too -- that vid is 3 years old and I've never heard that song. And googling reveals this was a hot story... then. But afaik JJ has never officially come out. Carmen's sure better off with Joan than with Dave Navarro (ugh) or Dennis Rodman (double ugh)

JJ's old enuf to be Pink's mom, no?  mmmm... lesbian cougars!
