Britney Spears' only career appearance on 10@10.  Let's keep it that way.

Ack! Pearl Jam gone Counting Crows!!
This does in fact suck.  Truly pointless.

And so of course it became by far Pearl Jam's biggest hit, peaking at #2.

They used that as a sound check warmer upper, and one day decided to give out on their website to their fans.  And the rest is history.  I dislike it as well, but that's a pretty interesting origin story.

TANC: Britney's "Satisfaction", the day after LA played the Devo take.

this isn't very satisfying.

oh I think "Do it One More Time" or "Ooops I Did It Again" will make appearances in their respective years... someday.

Ya can't go dissin' Mae West!

Did she say "our love become a flaming pie"?

Ooh, very short version.  Or maybe that's the only version.

Glad he didn't play Jose's version, cause it's great, and the one I heard first.

OK, fess up: How many of these HFHs do you own?  I have 2 so far: the Shatner, and Mae West's evisceration of "Light My Fire."  ("flaming pie"?)

OK, the player crapped out, and when I pressed "play" again, "Dream On" came on.  WTF?

I have the Faith Hill CD (it's rather nice, actually, but then I was very into the "new trad" country thing circa '93).

Maybe children these days, having never heard the original, feel the same way about the Britney cover as I do about the Tiffany one.
It's awesome!!

I don't have Mae West, though I should.  I also have the Shatner & Pearl Jam,and I think I have the Pat Boone.  And if he indeed reappears at #10 I have that too.

Back to normal.  I kinda liked Tiffany's take on Tommy James at the time.  Her cover of "I Saw Her Standing There" was far worse.
