I *still* don't get the list of people with the initials "LB" in REM's "End of the World...". WTF?

What's there to get?  Furthermore, since when did you even try to 'get' Stipe's lyrics?

well I know he's weird, but why "LB"?

He probably did it just so people would wonder "what's he mean by that?"

I always assumed he put Lenny Bruce & Lester Bangs to gether in a sentence somehow & it grew from there.
