Hey Rod, et al, What does Gordon Jump have in common with Jimmy Cliff, Gil Scott-Heron, Jeff Porcaro & Ronnie Lane?

I was gonna say "they're all dead" but they're not. Jimmy Cliff and Gil Scott-Heron are still sucking wind somewhere.

They were all born on their birthdays. 

More specifically, they are all April fools, born April 1 (obviously, I used that newfangled interweb-a-majig).

ETA:  As I moved away from this I remembered that I had a nephew born on April 1, referred to in my family as "Baby James".  Born without kidneys, he died April 1 as well, just after I arrived at the hospital.  He held my finger.  My father (also James) died later that month (the 22nd).  It's odd how random things like this can trigger emotional moments -- pretty choked up right now.  RIP, nephew and grandfather James.

Wasn't Craig Chaquico about 16 when they recorded this?

Craig was 16 when they did Sunfighter.  I met him a couple of times back when he was in Steelwind, just before Dragonfly, just after Baron Von Tollbooth.  He was a marvel at the time, a kid that could play so well, the other members of the band at time would just stand and stare during the song!

BOS4 Good Times -- not gettin' hassled/not gettin' hustled!

Just looked up who wrote and performed the Good Times theme. Was totally NOT what I expected. It was written by Dave Grusin (music) and Marilyn and Alan Bergman (lyrics), all of whom were big time pro songwriters, and performed by James Gilstrap and Blinky Williams, about whom I know nothing.

James (Jim) Gilstrap has been discussed here fairly recently. His hit "Swing Your Daddy"  ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92TzM9NabQY -- the video doesn't have much to do with him, but the song is there) was only a mid-charter in the US but a Top Ten single in the UK, and a big fave on CGSS.  He's also the male voice at the beginning of Stevie's "You Are the Sunshine of My Life".
