it's funny, I was about to post how different Marcus' set was from Dave's, but equally good, and then he goes and plays consecutive songs we heard yesterday.  Followed by a very Morey-ish Genesis song.

indeed, I was about to declare a draw: Dave gets points for playing 3 R&B tunes; Marcus gets MAJOR props from me for "Wash Bullets". And they both draw my ire for you-know-who.

anyone recall that SNL (?) weekend update item that went something like this? -> "The Washington Bullets are changing their name to remove the bad connotations their currrent name implies to DC residents.  Their new name will be the Virginia Bullets."

Love the swaying-smoothosity of Joe Jackson here another BOS to go w Peter Gabriel

I don't, but that is hysterical.  Is this a coincidence?  or were you listening to KFOG earlier when they were talking about best SNL bits, especially the faux commercials?

heh, although I did hear the KFOG jocks and callers talk about their fave SNL bits earlier, most of what they were talking about had nothing to do with me pulling that bit of trivia out of my head.    It's just one of those jokes you never forget.  (I lived in DC for a while too, so that prob helped my retention.)

Georgetown area (35th and Reservoir)  I went to GU for two years.

Isn't Falls Church where Jerry Falwell had his congo?

No, he was way down on the Carolina border in Lynchburg.

But the church that the town of Falls Church was named after still stands and has a pew marker that reads "George Washignton slept here."  <rimshot>

sorry, old joke.

The lovely Althea coming thru loud and clear on the replay. Not like I can't listen anytime on a cd or iTunes, but this is good.

Mark, were you aware that the Mamas & Papas cover of "Dancing in the Street" name-checks Falls Church in the outro?  I guess Mama Cass was originally from there too.

When Cass was a sophomore, planned to go to Swarthmore...
