Dave did this M3S on today;s Pop Quiz:

Kinks, "Dedicated Follower of Fashion"
Black Crowes, "Hard to Handle"
Oasis, "Some Might Say"

What was the answer to this one?  I have no idea.

you'll kick yourself...

All 3 bands involve brothers.

Argh!  The selection of "Some Might Say" rather than one of Oasis' well-known songs had me looking for a lyrical connection.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

I'm not sure how easy this one is, but I think it is a good one:

Smashmouth "Walking On The Sun"
Crosby, Stills & Nash "Just A Song Before I Go"
The Doors "Touch Me"
"Music is the Earth, People are the Flowers, and I am the Hose."

Interstellar activities (walking on the sun; traveling twice the speed of sound; stars fall from the sky for you and I)?

nope.  it is in the lyrics though.

No one bit yet, so here's a hint:  The link is that these songs could justifiably be mentioned in another thread in the Stream of Consciousness forum.

I guess this one wasn't so easy after all...all three contain references to taglines from commercials.

The opening line of "Walking on the Sun" is 'It ain't no joke I'd like to buy the world a toke & teach the world to sing in perfect harmony.'

CSN contains the line '...into the friendly skies...'

and of course Jimbo Morrison famously tacked the words 'stronger than dirt' onto the coda of "Touch Me".

Thanks, I figured y'all would appreciate it.  Probably a lot easier if I could've played the songs for you.

Dude, I had the lyrics in front of me, side-by-side, singing the songs in my head... and I still didn't get it!

Just curious, did the Doors lyrics conclude with "Stronger than Dirt"?  On Leo's Lyrics it doesn't ,although it is discussed in the comments.

I don't think it's considered part of the song, but I think it's accepted that they buried a barely audible vocal track with that phrase at the end of the song, since musically it was identical to the Ajax cleanser jingle.
Let's get right to it.

Some guy with a really cool lyrics site, at least it's the only one I know of with a reliable search feature for scattered words & exact phrases.

Annalisa played "Touch Me" yesterday, and it was far from 'barely audible' at the end.

I'm pretty sure I got it, but I had to cheat on the Pretenders tune to confirm my guess, so I'll hold off in case anyone else can get it without looking.
