BOS JS "Crown of Creation"!!!

When I first discovered the Airplane in 7th grade, I found "CoC" especially impenetrable.  At the time I figured it would make sense someday when I started taking drugs.

I've still never dropped acid.  I know look at "CoC" as Paul's earlier, better sense of sloganeering.  (He became more didactic and overwordy as the years went on.)

A second contribution from the SF contingent: Janis & Big Bro's supreme take on Gershwin's Summertime.

Your daddy's rich, and your mama's so good lookin'--Janis would particularly appreciate the latter...

BOS3 Stones -- I seem to recall you hate this one, Gaz.  Maybe Ms Baez's cover would change your mind.

I think I'm with you on your BOS selections, Mike--particularly this Stones semi-rarity. Don't know why this song isn't better known.

Didn't Dave run a Space Food Sticks ad in a recent set? Man those things were weird. Kind of like a Tootsie Roll, but softer.

so, were they sweet and dessert-y? or did they, um, "taste like chicken"?

You're correct.  I took the minutes to fold laundry.  Back in time for Otis.  This must've been the song that put Arthur Conley head over heels for him.

They were sweet--flavors like chocolate, orange, and I think maple or something similar. It was the 60s, and sugar was king in kids' snacks. See also: Pop Tarts.
