There were helicopters in that video?  All I remember are Phil and Phil in the recording studio pretending to laugh at each other's mis-takes.  (Cocaine's a hell of a drug.)  I think the album was actually called Chinese Wall.

Yeah, towards the end they left the studio & flew around somewhere in a Huey.

POC, the reason this has stuck in my mind over the years is that I have spent way too much time in Taiwanese & Chinese karaoke clubs, and for some dreadful reason every director of karaoke videos falls back on this motif.  You cannot possibly imagine how many such videos have been made of Asian supermodels flitting around on helicopters to beach photoshoots, said videos having NOTHING to do with the song of course.

I even had to sing "Amazing Grace" over such a video once.

me too, and Dave has eschewed this long enough to de-Katrina-ize it.  It's been several months methinks.

Ooh!  Love me the gritty vocals on "Shame!"

it's songs like "love is like..." and same-era kinks and stones that make me wonder why people bother listening to bands like franz ferdinand. last week, i would have said "franz ferdinand and the scissor sisters," but ss are growing on me. i think it's attitude. they have attitude. and fine arrangements.

well there's your problem right there...

i suppose "easy lover" is forgettable enough. i remember loving it as a kid, but i wouldn't think of it these days unless someone mentioned it. so thanks. :) that song has some rockin' guitar.

"Ladies and Gentlemen... the SHOOOOORT set".  Indeed, considering we got the lengthy Sweet suite.

I'm with Mark--LILO has only popped up once or twice in the last year, so I think it's been redeemed for the time being.

BOS2 to Rockaway Beach, although it'd be nice to hear "Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue" or "Pinhead" once in awhile.
Let's get right to it.

Hey POC, 2 questions: when's your last day in Mtn View?  (so we can maybe get one more lunch in)

and which version of "On Broadway" are you channeling for your quote, your main squeeze George Benson?

That was a great (& underrated) movie.  Even Keanu Reeves was quite good.

Oooooh, ARS is sounding mighty fine on (as I believe I have mentioned) this rainy day.
