instant BOS Tanita Tikaram, "Twist in my Sobriety", one of the *great* songs of that year.

But I've yet to hear the Liza Minelli cover, produced by Neil Tennant.

Ditto (though I missed it! Argh), and BOS2 to The The, "The Beaten Generation."

Holy crap! The The, "The Beaten Generation" BOS2.  This is already better than any Dave '89 set in memory.

Put on your face!  BOS3 to the Cure, a very depressing song from a very depressing album.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

Wasn't that Kyle who said that?

PS: The Liza version of TIMS used to get played at the Duplex on the jukebox once in a while.

I asked Ginger about SP in a recent chat.  She is not a fan & didn't recognize that quote when I said it to her.  Makes me wonder about what kind of local backlash Trey & Matt get.

mighta been -- considering I've seen that ep dozens of times, you'd think I'd be sure. "Bahboora, Bahboora..."

BOS4 Indigos, just 'cause it's not the obvious choice.  I just heard a clip of Liza's "TIMS" on Amazon -- sounds pretty horrendous.

BOS & possible BOW, Bob Mould - "See A Little Light"

ETA: these lyrics *exactly* fit my mood the past couple weeks:

As the years go by, they take their toll on you
Think of all the things we wanted to do
And all the words we said yesterday
That's a long time ago

But I think/hope that in the last 24 hrs I've snapped out of it.  (and without Cher slapping me in the face!)

Ginger I kiss you!  MWAH!  J'adore "See a Little Light" (and I presume it's an across-the-board bustout).  She'll hit the "120 Minutes" trifecta for me if she closes with the Hoodoo Gurus.
