not a Soul Patrol but a remarkable imitation!

Same could have been said for that date specific 1968 set we got for Tony Salvador.  It's been a funky week.

Pretty funky set so far--Geils, Rev. Al, and now the Isleys--not a Soul Patrol but a remarkable imitation!

BOS to the Isleys.  Would've given BOS to J. Geils as well except I can't abide the grammar of the title.   :P

If Dave plays a Get Christie Love! clip, you'll be the TANC/Psychic of the Week.

I've been to Danang, Vietnam.  There's a big statue there and a public holiday to commemorate the day (shortly subsequent to that news clip we just heard) when a couple jeeps full of female VC cadres rolled into town and found that ARVN (the So. Vietnam army) was nowhere to be found & that the city officials where willing to surrender unconditionally.  Danang is the 3rd biggest city in Vietnam, so this event is widely viewed as the beginning of the endgame.

VHM to the plaintive vox of "Hypnotized," a word that, thanks to David Letterman, I always hear as "Hyp-MO-Tized."

Best segue of the day: Ford nominating "Nelson Rockerfeller" for Veep, into that crazy screaming intro to Joe Walsh's Meadows.
Let's get right to it.

Imagine if he'd picked Bush instead.

Is this Joe Walsh?  It reminds me of that (Greg Lake?) Christmas song ...

there was a New Yorker cartoon that week showing two guys looking at a headline of "Nelson Rockefeller named Veep", and one says to the other, "So...That's what you give to the guy who already has everything."

Dave's preferred "single remix" of "Rebel Rebel."  Would've rather gotten "1984."

Actually that's how I've always thought Mr. Welch sings it, and furthermore probably where Dave (Letterman, that is) got it from.  Unless they both got it from Alfalfa.

Dave plays the *correct* "Rebel Rebel" for a '74 set! Kudos -- Bob screwed up the other day.
