10 March 2008 - It's 1986

"She might fade away."  The BoDeans song, on the other hand, seemingly will not.

Before that: Smithereens, "Behind the Wall of Sleep."
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

Smithereens last CD, the track by track tribute to the "Meet the Beatles" LP, was received well enough that they're now working on another Beatlesque CD due this summer, when they'll perform it at one of the national Beatle Fans conventions.

I really should attend one of those Beatle conventions someday.  Two of my softball buddies are regular attendees and they've raved about them.

Meanwhile, HM to Run-DMC with Aerosmith, though I'd MUCH rather have gotten "You Be Illin'."

no, guess again, then I'll tell you.

Brewster the Giant Rooster?  (I'm trying really hard to refrain from "big cock" jokes.)

That was an interesting Chernobyl clip.  The Western press first got word of the leak after power plant personnel in Sweden(!), got high REM counts, and, after figuring out that it wasn't from their own reactor, traced it all the way back to the Ukraine(!).  I never knew that!

And proxy for POC - BOS for the Rush "Big Bang" that followed.

Heard the first half in the car, rather surprised to *not* find a bunch of Rush bashing goign on once I got here.

Boo for the Call.  I really dislike them, and the anthems they stand for.

HM for TH.  I didn't really appreciate True Stories until I saw the movie, which was really cool and weird.

I think you and Mike have vastly different takes on that film, iirc.  I've not seen it yet, maybe one day, just to be a completist.

I like this World Party tune, but I've always thought that guy didn't show much strength of character.  "It seemed like the guy was gonna ask again where you were, so I just told him the first time, even though you didn't want me to."  What a dweeb!
