and too bad John Denver had to fly his Rocky Mtn ass into the ocean off Monterey in '95.    But yea for John Lennon with Elton John on backing vocals!  For hitting #1 in a few weeks, Lennon had to honor bet with Elton to appear with him at Thanksgiving concert at Madison Square Garden.

I saw them a couple years ago at Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton. Fun to see 'em up close. They were so young when they hit it big (1972 Grammy for Best New Artist) that they're still relatively young (late 50s).  A fun show, I especially dig long version of Sandman from first album.
