Looking at the 1981 list:
1) With a handful of exceptions, it was very AC-leaning.
2) Two of the songs were redone (and charted) in 1994.
3) There are 25-30 which've never appeared on 10@10.
indeed, as noted here before, this was a period in which Top 40 radio was VERY AC-ized (Air Supply etc) -- yesterday's chart was from '82 which was similarly mellow. Top 40 radio was pronounced dead when WABC dropped the format in May of '82
