Btw, who's the little tyke in your latest avatar?
see previous posts. I can't believe NOBODY recognized the pic and the quote.
face it Mike, you're the biggest anglophile in our group, and THIS TIME YOU'VE GONE TOO FAR!!
well, I am... but it's a classic movie everyone ought to have seen on TV at some point.
Hey Mike, just to show no hard feelings I'll field the queries from Urth & Dave for ya:
as Mike said an a different thread:
OMG! You've never seen Village of the Damned? Only a Brit sci-fi classic!
It really is a good movie, subtle and well-directed, not the typical sci-fi "B" movie of the period, and I highly recommend it. Based on a novel by the same guy responsible for
Day of the Triffids. It was released in 1960 when I was five, and the TV commercials scared the living crap out of me! I finally saw it on TV when I was in high school. And about 10 years ago I saw it at the Castro during one of their Cinemascope fests, ona double bill with
Forbidden Planet (surely you've seen
that? ) With the Castro audience, VOTD had quite the gay subtext.
