5 Feb 2008: Gung Hay Fat Super Tuesday! (1985)
« on: February 05, 2008, 08:02:55 AM »
I was hoping for the Mardi Gras set, or maybe a Super Tuesday election set, but with that damn "Thru the wall" thing looming for Friday, we may be stuck with an '80s or '90s year.

I was so caught up in Super Tuesday and my work that I had no idea today was Mardi Gras!  Laissez les bon temps roulez!  (Did I get that right?  My conjugation is fuzzy.)

Leading into the set we're hearing Beds are Burning, which makes a latter 80s set less likely imo. So maybe we're going 90s today?

Another behind the scenes presidential clip--Dave must've found a whole cache of these things.

Yeah, that was kind of creepy.  It made me feel a little funny to think about the president making such a big deal out of a football game.  I think Nixon talking to Buzz Aldrin in space made sense, but congratulating Bill Walsh just seems silly.

Reagan was always pretending to be president.  To this day I wonder which of his inner circle was really his Cheney, his puppeteer.

Well, you've got 2 now. BOS Prince, "Raspberry Beret", 'cause ah's a bit too leisurely.
