PANAMA!!!

I just imagined your Marvin The Paranoid Android making the devil-horns to that line, Beavis-style.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

Nice call on the VH.  "Panama" isn't my favorite of the Jah Roth oeuvre, but if you don't like this, you don't like fun, and there you are.

When Hugh sings this live, does his sing "Five o'clock this morning morning"?  Or does he have great echo effects?

he probably can't afford the effects anymore.

i must say "panama" was one of the highlights in being in the band, teeze! i didn't play on this song, so i just watched the lead guitar player, rico mccalma, work his magic. that guy was amazing.

hey, i think people should say "toe-tapping" more often! :)

dude, mike is miss cleo today.

VHM Pretenders, the first of several inevitables. Bet on Prince and VH.

Another notch in the crystal ball for RGM!

Make that two notches.

(Tim DeLaughter quoted this "dearly beloved..."  bit at the Polyphonic Spree show at Bimbo's a few weeks ago during the intro to one of their songs. Got big laughs.
Let's get right to it.

...electric word, "life",...

I'd much rather hear this than "When Doves Cry"

At least Dave goes with a different song from Purple Rain every time he visits 1984.  All five singles get some attention, "I Would Die 4 U" less so.

Why he doesn't do the same for any other Prince record is anyone's guess.

Perhaps because PR was Prince's biggest seller and the peak of his popularity in general?

Elvis! VHM The Only Flame in Town. Coincidence? I think not.

Yeah but he also plays "Something in the Water..." which is relatively obscure, yet ignores Sign o' the Times and everything after it.

Another VHM for me, too.  This peaked at #56*, along with "I Am The Walrus", CDB's "Long-Haired Country Boy", and a song from yesterday's set.  Care to guess which one?

*I have been spending a lot of free time filling out my all-time Top 100 & there seems to be a few chart positions in the 41-100 range that have a whole bunch of entries.
