AAAACK!

If they are gonna play "I Want You To Want Me", they had to play Chris Isaak's worthless cover?

yikes -- truncated AND dumbed-down!  Sounds like they'll be finished on Sunday afternoon.

I tuned in last nite at 9:30 and discovered that they apparently stopped A-Z at 8:00 for "Live From the Archives" and decided that, rather than come back to it for an hour they'd just wait until this morning. Can't recall that happening before. So -- of course -- they played a F.Mac song at 9:35. Bet Big Rick's phone was ringing off the hook.

I also note that we got only one version of "Little Wing" (Jimi's) rather than the multiple versions they've played in years past.

Bowie's original version of The Man Who Sold The World is playing now--a song I can honestly say I've NEVER heard on KFOG in this rendition, on 10@10 or elsewhere. If they do play it, it's always the Nirvana version. (Darryl, can you confirm or disprove this?) Maybe about time the Fogheads heard it.
Let's get right to it.

So far the only twin spin I have heard was both the Halen & Aztec Camera versions of "Jump".  And I've been listening pretty regularly.

That would definitely be the biggest surprise during the time I've been listening, pushing Dylan's "It Ain't Me, Babe" into the runner-up spot.

Jeezus, we started with "Little Wing" at 6am and at 9:20pm we're in the R's with "Revolution"! Granted, there aren't many Q's, but still. This'll be over by tomorrow nite at this rate. Shortest. A-to-Z. EVAH!

I listened for a little while the other day, and there were so many gaps, it wasn't even fun to try to guess what was coming next.

indeed, I was tempted to call this morning and ask why even bother to do such a truncated version?

Ah, now the "San Francisco" songs begin, with Jason Mraz Brett Dennen (c'mon, who can tell 'em apart?).

of all the songs that coulda been passed over, they include Sublime's "Santeria" (which they ignored when it was current). I'd like to pop a cap in somebody.

...I dunno, after the saturation from Toyota, you'd think "Saved By Zero" would be an even better one to skip.

despite my gripes it's still better than your usual 9-5 radio fair, but speaking of gaps...

...in years past the stretch where the N's give way to the O's was Chock Full o' Beatles (Not A Second Time, Norwegian Wood, Nowhere Man, Ob-la-di Ob-la-da, Octopus's Garden, Oh Darling).  But this year the only one they played was Ob-la-di, and this was after they played roughly 7 Beatles tunes before noon on Monday.

Could be that's why they omitted so much of that string. That's a whole lotta any artist in a 5 or 6 hour stretch, even the Beatles.
Let's get right to it.
