And with that, I'm off to write cards, wrap presents, and copyedit a chapter of a book before departing for Pittsburgh.  I'll be back on Wednesday.  Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good Friday!

Gaz
and to all a good night!  Er, like Gaz, I mean have a happy xmas (war is over) holiday!

I agree, and since he's been exposed as a pedi-perv, all the much more!

OMG, Jethro Tull!

I was amazed when the Drive played this, but I am completely at loss for words getting this from Dave.

'72 was a big year for r&r xmas tunes, iirc. Didn't the Greg Lake Father Christmas come out that year too? I think Santa Claus and His Old Lady was a year or two later.

OK, English Congregation confirms the 10-way tie!

Greg Lake was '74 or '75, methinks. But C&C were either '71 or '72 iirc.  Gary Glitter, sprung from NHL jail! Woo Hoo!
HAY, HAAAAYYYYY!
wooo frickin hooooo

Ali & I hope to hear Mr Glitter at least five times tomorrow nite

Looks like you're right--AMG sez I Believe in Father Christmas charted in '75.

And from the I Didn't Know That! department: Lake's bio on AMG says he wrote Lucky Man when he was around 12, then shelved it for a good while before recording it for inclusion on the first ELP album.
Let's get right to it.

Wow, there's a full day for you. Travel safe, Joe, and have a great Xmas in the land of your people.

I'm here in SF probably thru Monday's set, then off to the land of MY people (Sac-burg) for a couple of days.
Let's get right to it.

Mark, looks like we're back in sync again. I too didn't get around to calling in a Christmas greeting (too damn busy at work the last two days, and slept too late today--I have shifted to holiday mode in earnest). But my fondest wishes for a peaceful holiday to all of you, and may this little kaffeeklatsch prosper and continue for years to come.

Happy holidays to all. I also appreciate the comeraderie (sp?) and support throughout the year.

I'm going to be off work until Jan 2. Up in SF for family dinner Christmas Eve, then Mill Valley dinner on the 25th.

Best wishes to all for a great 2008.

Indeed, dittoes upon dittoes. This forum in which I post most excessively truly helps to keep me sane (or slightly less insane, perhaps) -- work would be unbearable without you guyz'n'galz. I'll be around for the Xmas set on Mon, in the midst of my Xmas-thru-New Year's movie marathon.  Happy Merry and Merry Happy to all.

A few flicks I want to see. Planning on Alvin on Thursday or Friday. New Julia Roberts flick I heard a promo for sounds OK too. Renee was touting an indie called Juno or Juneau? Sounds good too.

Well, excuuuuuse me!  Hey, when you're there, can you kick the Pope's ass for me? (Never mind -- he'd probably enjoy it)
