Wow. 1968 was one turbulent year. If all this happened today, GW'd declare martial law.

I haven't ruled that possibility out ever since 2/15/03.  I still don't trust Bush not to do something CRAZAY.

for all you armchair QBs: Would LBJ have fared better against Tricky Dick had he stayed in for '68?

No. HHH lost because ultimately he was seen as Lyndon's Lapdog by too many.  LBJ himself would've fared even worse.

well, we're falling back on a few standbys now. As much as I love "Grazin'..." it's a '68 Katrina, I reckon. But the ChambersMix makes me cut Dave major slack.

Total Katrina.  You're right.

I normally listen with one channel so as not to tune out my surroundings entirely -- and in most years it doesn't matter. But this has been a "true stereo" set from the git-go.

The megamix is what I'll cast my vote for, but pretty much everything else is firmly into 9-way tie territory.
Let's get right to it.

You may well be right. What's this voiceover at the end? Part of the record or another ebellishment from DM?

Yet another BOS to Bookends, Paulie and Artie.
Let's get right to it.

Were they nonplussed that "damn" was such a tut-tut word then?

Geoff, do you recall when the Dead used the Chambers Brothers tune to play at midnight one New Years as part of an audio montage when the balloons dropped? Cranked to 11 thru their PA it sounded AMAZING, with it bouncing to all four corners of the Coliseum (they were running a modified quad system for effects like that).
Let's get right to it.
