Not that I'm in a position to go, but everybody's favorite Bunnyman, Ian McCullough, is at Bimbo's tomo'w nite.

Would have been, but the show is a late cancellation.  No explanation, just "Ian McCulloch has to postpone this show. He hopes to reschedule for May."

Sympathies for anyone who was planning to go.

Aww man.  I love J-Rock & wish I would have checked this thread sooner.  How was it?

It was pretty fun, although not very crowded. too bad.   Kao=S had a singer/dancer who modeled for some famous video game, final combat IV or something.  She showed off her swordin' skills.  Another band, the nokies, we're young popsters, very fun and cute. An all girl trio, called ZZZ, played dark death noise rock.  The last act, vampillia, were about 8 strong and had a lot of theatrical touches.  The male singer came out in a black trench coat and stovepipe hat, like an undertaker, but he was also funny.  We left right after he leaned too far on the monitor and came tumbling into the audience.  Poor dude.

Zoinks, that's quite a bump in capacity. The Independent holds what, maybe 400? And the Civic is around 8 or 9K.

But if I were holding tix for the Independent, I'd be *hugely* pissed off.

Going!  I got comped tix after they changed venues.  I think it's pretty ridiculous they're playing at Bill Graham.  I'd be surprised if they sell it out.

TC and I went to the Elvis Costello show last night at The Warfield courtesy of Connected.  Elvis was in fine form, belting out his tunes and squeezing chords out of his guitars (cool ones too - Jazzmaster, Telecaster, Les Paul, a Gibson hollow body, etc.).  I'm guessing he's not a smoker because his voice sounded so pristine and preserved.  I also forgot what a great rhythm guitarist he is.  He ran around the audience, pulling people up to spin the wheel of songs.  Sometimes he would "help" the wheel land on a song or theme.  It was so much fun!
