Holy crap--are you freakin' kidding me? Buffalo Springfield? Now there's one not too many people expected. That'll pack 'em in. EC and Merle & Kris are not too shabby either. But is seeing Elton & Leon Russell fair payback for having to hear John Boyscoutcamp and Pearl Jam in the same show? And will they add to the Saturday lineup to balance it out or just let everyone play longer? Right now Sunday seems to be a no-brainer.

Wow, would I love to.  But if I did, it'd be a very short trip, as I've depleted most of my vaca time for the year.  I will seriously look into it, though - last year's show was one of the best days ever.

A number of the artists listed in the above Sunday lineup are actually playing together as part of T-Bone Burnett's Speaking Clock Revue.

On sale today, I tried and even running two computers simultaneously, only lawn tix came up. Even tried just for ONE ticket and lawn came up. I don't do lawn. This is where the scalpers make some moolah now. This is the only show I know that sells out in about two minutes. All I want is one seat. I had hoped for 4 tix to take fam.

Went to see Elvis sings Nick and Nick sings Elvis last night at GAMH.  I assumed that Nick would go on first then hand the stage to Elvis (or vice versa), but they ended up singing side by side the whole night.  Nick mentioned that back in the late 70s and early 80s, he produced Elvis' albums - meaning he "showed up to the studios well dressed and cracked the odd joke or two, but basically watched Declan play his songs during the sessions".  Hehe.

They sounded great - and ended up singing back up while the other one was singing lead.  Bob Andrews - their veteran keyboard player sang on I Love The Sound Of Breaking Glass.

Too bad everybody in the crowd decided that they wanted to take photos and shoot video during the whole show.  One or two pics, OK, but come on - live in the moment people!

Here's the setlist for the early show:

01. Here Comes The Weekend - Elvis Costello & Nick Lowe
02. When I Write The Book - Elvis Costello
03. Home Is Anywhere You Hang Your Head - Nick Lowe
04. Don't Lose Your Grip On Love - Elvis Costello
05. Mystery Dance - Nick Lowe
06. I Trained Her To Love Me - Elvis Costello
07. Poisoned Rose - Nick Lowe
08. I Love The Sound Of Breaking Glass - Bob Andrews
09. Oliver's Army - Nick Lowe
10. I'm A Mess - Elvis Costello
11. Alison - Nick Lowe
12. Cruel To Be Kind - Elvis Costello
Interlude
13. Accidents Will Happen - instrumental (saxophone solo)
14. Lover Don't Go - Austin de Lone
15. Indoor Fireworks - Nick Lowe
16. What's Shakin' On The Hill - Elvis Costello
17. Love My Baby Now - Nick Lowe
18. Monkey To Man - Bill Kirchen
19. Heart Of The City - Elvis Costello & Nick Lowe
Encore
20. (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding? - Elvis Costello & Nick Lowe

that sounds like a great show at GAMH.  Nick sounded wonderful in that clip.  I just came back from Hardly Strictly and Bill Kirchen showed up to play a couple tunes w the Flatlanders (Jimmie Dale Gillmore, joe Ely and Butch Hancock).  Kirchen can sure work that telecaster.

Pretty sure he played the whole night - EC and NL were mostly playing rhythm.  I hadn't heard of him until last night.  He really was fabulous - I love a twangy lead!  :)
