Good thing I didn't turn Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli autographs into tattoos! ;)
PA woman turns McCartney autograph into tattoo
WEST CHESTER, Pa. (AP) – Call it a signature in very permanent ink. A Pennsylvania woman took a sign to Paul McCartney's show Sunday (8/15) in Philadelphia requesting he autograph her back with a marker. McCartney called Rose Ann Belluso up on stage and obliged, and she decided to make the moment last forever.  She had McCartney's signature permanently etched onto her body at Extreme Ink Tattoo Parlor in West Chester. A tattoo artist went over the signature on Monday.  Belluso, of Downingtown, says the painful procedure was a no-brainer.  She says getting McCartney's autograph was the best experience of her life, behind only the birth of her two sons. It's also her first tattoo.

Bob Dylan and band perform Aug 25 at SF's Warfield Theatre. Tix are general admission and will be available at The Warfield box office day of show only.  No advance tix available anywhere for this performance. Admission is $60 cash.  No credit cards accepted. Box office and doors open at 5:30 pm, with show time at 8 pm.  Ticketholders will enter the venue immediately at the time of purchase, one ticket per customer. Line-ups will begin no earlier than noon on day of performance. More info: http://bobdylan.com/tour

Planning on waiting in line for tix.  How crazy do you think it's gonna get?

I'd guess that it might get a little intense right at noon when they allow the line to start forming (if in fact they do enforce that), but once everyone is in place it'll probably be pretty orderly unless someone tries to take cuts (or invites all their friends to join them).

Must say though, these days $60 is not too bad to see a legend. Have fun!
Let's get right to it.

Wow, what a terrible thing to witness:
Death plunge onto concert stage. Apparent suicide shocks hundreds of concertgoers at Mountain Winery amphitheater in Saratoga.

My wife and I were there.  We actually won GA tickets from KFOG.

Worse still, I taped it, although it was probably too tight of a shot to really help the police much.  (In my viewfinder I only saw the body fall from what looked like the lighting rig, not from the roof of the winery, which is probably 15-20 foot higher.)

But yeah.  Horrible.  At my wife's urging, I gave the card to the police.  Unfortunately to do so, we were escorted back into the amphitheater (shortly after the fall they asked everyone to exit to the plaza), where we had to sit waiting to be interviewed.  From our seats we had a clear view of the tarp-covered body. :-{

And even when we moved to seats where a black curtain they had put up shortly after the fall was supposed to block our view, we were still close enough that the stage lights illuminated the scene.

Bummer, because the show really really great.  Number of young kids at the show with their parents.

Oh man, that's really horrifying. You guys must still be shaken up. I'd guess just about everyone who was there is, to some degree.

Sorry the guy was in that much pain, but what a truly crappy way to end it.
Let's get right to it.

OMG.  Elvis Costello does Nick Lowe and vice versa at Great American Music Hall, October 1st.  Gotta go to this one even though tickets are quite spendy.

Aaaaccckkk! Drive a stake through my heart! Would be at this in a heartbeat if I still lived anywhere near SF.

Just bought my tickets.  I've seen Nick Lowe in concert but haven't seen Elvis.  Pretty excited that it's at GAMH too.  Love that venue!   ;D

Woo Hoo!  I've seen 'em both (separately) over the years but that should be one fabulous evening.

A friend who works at the Warfield posted on FB an hour or so ago that there were still tickets available for the Dylan show. So either the folks who really wanted to see him all went last night, or Zimmy's not quite as popular as he once was. Or more likely, his core audience isn't as into going out on a Wednesday night as they once were.
Let's get right to it.

Agreed. I've seen both of them a lot--even together a couple of times (Nick opening for EC, not actually playing together, at least not that I can recall). Both are stellar musicians and troubadours--if I could figure out a way to get down there and get a ticket that wouldn't put me in the poor house, I'd do it in a second.
Let's get right to it.

Went to the Dylan show at The Warfield last night.  Got there at 12 noon and a guy offered to save my space in line, so I came back at 4:30.   :)
The show was amazing.  The guitar player looked so familiar and it turned out it was Charlie Sexton (whom I had a crush on in the 80s).  Here's the setlist:

Rainy Day Women # 12 & 35
Señor (Tales Of Yankee Power)
Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues
Simple Twist Of Fate
Rollin' And Tumblin'
Desolation Row
High Water (for Charlie Patton)
Man In The Long Black Coat
Most Likely You Go Your Way (And I'll Go Mine)
My Wife's Home Town
Highway 61 Revisited
Ain't Talkin'
Thunder On The Mountain
Ballad Of A Thin Man
Jolene
Like A Rolling Stone

They've added a second show that evening due to popular demand.  Doors open at 10:30.
