AAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! WOS Cheap Trick, hooking up with the dreaded Diane Warren.

Speaking of power ballads....

Totally forgettable Yes. They weren't very good in this period either. I blame Trevor Rabin.

Trevor Rabin, Trevor Horn -- all those Trevors are evil, I tells ya!

I was one of the 17 people who bought his debut album many years earlier & really liked it, but by this point I'd have to agree.

But let's hear it for guzzling marshmellows and jumping of the Empire State.

Don't think I've heard this version by U2, but it seems pointless to me.

Yeah, this actually has some potential. Although I can't help but think they could have played this with a little more fire, a little more edge (and you can take that any way you want).

That's why I can only give it a VHM at best, but in this set it's near the top.

least necessary of set: "Under The Milky Katrina Tonight"

It only takes a spark to get a fire going & it only takes one breakout to redeem a pedestrian set (or at least save it from ignominy).

I'm tempted to say we've heard "Just Got Paid" once before, but I may have it confused with another NJS ditty from that period.

all I've got is one instance of "Parents Just Don't Understand" and 3 or 4 of "My Prerogative".  and some Prince & some Terence Trent.

BONUS TRACK:  Patti Smith - People Have the Power

Holy flaming mother of god!  figures, since I didn't stick around for the bonus, that it'd be great -- Dave's never played that in an '88 set has he?(but Ginger has).  One of my fave tracks of that year, in fact at the time I did a 90-minute mixtape of just women artists from 1988 -- out of 24 tracks, only 5 have ever appeared in a Morey '88 set:

Primitives, "Crash"
Michelle Shocked, "Anchorage"
Tracy Chapman, "Fast Car"
Annie Lennox (w/ Al Green), "Put a Little Love in Your Heart"
Enya, "Orinoco Flow" (Actually, Dave plays Enya in '89.)

And besides Patti Smith, the only other track that has ever showed up in *any* 10@10 is Debbie Harry's "Liar Liar".
