I would never have pegged this as James Gang had it not been ID'd.  They sound more like they been runnin' from the man that goes by the name of the Sandman.

Give me love, give me love, give me another No. 1, give me a break from people like Gaz who love the song but think the piano riff nabs from Dylan's "I Want You" far more egregiously than "My Sweet Lord's So Fine."

I misspoke, it's actually late James Gang, after Walsh had gone solo & Tommy Bolin stepped in.

Whinyface soundtrack Elliman! VHM. Followed by -- holy crap! -- John Martyn.  Talk about a rarity.

Thanks for ID'ing; I've never heard this before.  Don't recognize the name at all.

rare enough I'm pretty sure I've never heard it or of it.

Sounds good, though it seems pretty clear he must've listened to Astral Weeks A LOT.

Even though I just heard it yesterday, I'll give BOS to "Right Place, Wrong Time," just for that rollicking opening.  Right trip, wrong car - I know the feeling.

I only know of him because a friend at my college radio staion was named John Martin and he used to play his almost-namesake occasionally on his show. But commercial radio (in NY at least) pretty muched ignored him.

Spot-Check Billy got down on his hands and knees.  He said, "Hey Mama! Hey! Let me check your oil, alright?"

Best opening lyric ever?  Got to be right up there.

BOS2 to the gorgeous "Sitting in Limbo," used to great effect in the soundtrack to a book, To Be Someone.
