KPOO's Judge treats us to live Commodores.  Lionel R talkin' 'bout material thangs he thought had so much vah-yah... really didn't have any vah-yah at all.

Jeez, I think Judge is playin' the whole damn Commodores Live album--it had been on for awhile when Mike first posted about it, and it's still goin' on at 1:20. They just kicked into Brick House, so I'm thinkin' they must be hitting the end of the show.
Let's get right to it.

It did indeed go on forever, and I didn't actually hear Judge say anything "live", so I wonder if he was actually there.  The KPOO stream fell apart around 2:30 and I switched to WLNG.

I'm 'CDX-ing for the next couple of hours if anyone's interested. EJ's growin' some funk of his own.  "Ooo! he was so MACHO!"  Calm down, Elton.

Alice C's got you "Under My Wheels" -- would that Detroit Dave would play this or "Be My Lover" some morning.

I just finished reading a galley of his autobio, "12 Steps to Becoming a Golf Addict."  Nothing terribly juicy, but reasonably well told and he seems like a good guy.  Peter Sellers and Groucho Marx became close friends of his in the '70s.

I didn't know that, and he doesn't touch on politics at all in the book.  He did, however, talk at length about his embracing of Christianity (and shilled for a golf club manufacturer way too much).

That title is quite apt--he's been a huge golf nut since the 70s also, long before he got sober. Didn't know he was tight with Sellers or Groucho tho.

Trivia (and I'm recusing Gaz on this since he just read the bio): What's Alice's given name?
Let's get right to it.

Listening to the Technicolor Web of Sound this afternoon while reading copy.  New to me: A Fever Tree medley of "Day Tripper" and "We Can Work It Out," sounding thoroughly Vanilla-Fudged-out.

'lec-tric-lee they keep a baseball score: WLNG plays "The Beat Goes On". And indeed it does.

The other night Little Steven played Sonny's lone solo hit, the unjustly forgotten "Laugh at Me'.

'LNG Nugget o'the Day: The Bell Notes' 1959 orig of "I've Had It", covered memorably in the '70s by Fanny, whose rockin' version is on my all-time shoulda-been-a-huge-hit list.
