BOS5 Chambers Bros.  This has been the best Monday quartet of sets on eons.

Beautiful -- there's a scream after the words "Richard M. Nixon" and another after "Senator Agnew of..(forgot)".

Love the way he sings "and my soul...has been psy-kuh-dell-ah-sized."

Great, great piece of work--Dave really put some time in editing that together.
Let's get right to it.

The segue to 'Blackbird' was really nice too, after the over-the-top blowout of THCT.

Dave's really setting the bar high this week. If this isn't set of the week, we're in for some good stuff.

(oh, and JINX-adelicize!)

Another song I've never heard: whatever this is post-Cream with all the handclaps and the Farfisa.

If this was Shadows of Knight's "Shake," it's on the Buddah box set.  One of my all-time favorite dance tracks!  Fond memories of a Halloween costume party in the East Village and a hot DJ dressed as Spider-Man who played it and insisted it was someone else -- Kasenetz-Katz, or 1910, or some other bubblegum outfit.

Wow, some set--not one but two bustouts, a bunch of rarities, a Beatles tune, and the Time Has Come Today megamix. And the closest thing to a katrina was the Fleetwood Mac tune--which I have no problem hearing as often as DM wants to play it.

02/26/2007 - Monday. Time in...1968!!

1.  Foundations - I Can Take or Leave Your Lovin'
2.  American Breed - Bend Me, Shape Me
3.  People - I Love You
4.  Fleetwood Mac - Albatross
5.  Marvin & Tammi - Ain't Nothin' Like the Real Thing (BEST OF SET!!)
6.  Cream - White Room
7.  Shadows of Knight - Shake
8.  Chambers Brothers - Time Has Come Today (Friday Night Champagne Remix...)
9.  Beatles - Blackbird
10.  Sly - Dance to the Music

BONUS TRACK:  Moody Blues - Ride My Seesaw
Let's get right to it.

proxy of geoff: "Albatross".  I keep expecting the Marks & Spencer lady to come on and tells us what's on sale this week.

I got to listen to everythign up to about the middle of "Albatross" in the car on my way to a 10:15 appointment.  Put me in a good mood to say the least, can't wait until 10pm to listen to the whole thing over again.

I'll be tuned in at 10pm. I was actually home today but doing so much stuff, I spaced till it was too late to listen.

I woulda also BOS'd the Chambers Bros, who I saw 4 times at Winterland/Fillmore/Winterland/Fillmore West in the space of 6 months from 12/67.

I love those last two posters--Lee Conklin is one of my faves of the psychedelic poster artists. I have several of his at home, but neither of those.

trivia note on this poster:  Buffalo Springfield broke up before this show, so we saw Albert King instead!  The Chambers Bros was the only group at the time that got people up and dancing.  The popular thing at the time was to sit on the floor and groove out more trance-like.
