save the tiger! and bos to re-re!

you're bringing us a Touch of Class today, baby.  That's a delightful film... if you've never seen it, rent it.

i'll see if i can find it in english here. maybe it will come on one of the channels that can be modified to speak english.

BTW, if there's an international newsstand in your vicinity, check out the current Ent Weekly, with Kate Winslet on the cover -- fab pic of The Mirren inside, they've pretty much given her the Oscar already for The Queen.

Thanks, babe. I'm off to get a haircut and then I'll probably spend the afternoon in bed with Judge. Er, I mean in bed listening to Judge.  I had planned to go to the A's Pep Rally in Oakland City Center later on but I'll have to pass on that, sadly.

Diamond in the back
Sun-roof top
BOS!

William DeVaughn lookin' superfly with his gangsta whitewalls.

Last nite the "i" channel (used to be PAX) showed Superfly back-to-back with Shaft. Horribly edited, of course -- not only did they bleep everything from "goddamn" on up to "muthafucka", but when someone said "fuck" they actually pixilated his or her lips. Don't wanna offend those god-fearing lipreaders, I guess. Jeez.

BOS2 George.

yeah, 'cause people who watch pax are *so* fly.

i always confuse devaughn with tiny tim. or timmy t. or tony terry. whatever his name is. the "wht can't we live together" guy.

Timmy Thomas, and I totally agree.  There's something uneasily eerie about both records.  The latter is downright apocalyptic to my ears.  As for Mr. DeVaughn -- I have a conspiracy theory that he was an FBI informant.  I love the *sound* of that record (amazing production values for a vanity-press recording!) but the message is so mixed as to be troublesome for me.  We can still stand tall without the material things, he tells us, but then he delivers the "diamond in the back, sunroof top, diggin' the scene wid' a gangsta lean" with such obvious relish that it's hard not to think he's really sending the opposite message.  I draw all the wrong things from the inconsistency.

Hope you're better quickly. Chicken noodle soup is the answer. Maybe hot and sour soup?

OK, nix the CNS. That was bad. The female host is also terribly under-endowed. Not that you care.

Everything went well.  I fully expect an offer.  But the President is thinking of restructuring/realigning his direct reports, and, based on my China expertise, he is thinking about changing the job description of the opening I was interviewing for.  He's headed back to Scotland in another day or so for week-long meeting with the Board, during which he promised me he'd hash out his ideas and let me know what he was going to call me (I mean the position).  So it's just 'sit tight' time until I hear more.

Preliminary salary discussions indicate this will double my salary.
