WOS Reagan.  The sound quality on that clip is horrendous.

BOS4 Aztec Camera. It's Obvious!

I'm getting some stream nastiness too.  He's definitely hitting the high points of 84, which could be really bad.

Prince is definitely not the one off of vinyl today.

Nope. But is this a somewhat longer than usual version? Second day in a row we've led off with an extended version of an otherwise oft-heard tune.

sounded like the LP version to me; the 45 was shorter, iirc.  But if it's a remix, maybe it IS vinyl.

No way, Wire Train was the Vinyl.  I'd bet my pants.

Your pants are safe. Just asked DM--Wire Train was indeed the vinyl.

BOS Aztec Camera.

Wonder if the guys from 10cc got royalties from this Cars tune the way that K.D. Lang did from the Stones? They shoulda.
Let's get right to it.

I'm guessing Jim is referring to "I'm Not in Love"

I'm Not in Love. It's mostly about the arrangemend and the production, not the melody itself.

I'm surprised you even had to ask.

well, I was looking for a note-for-note melodic rip-off, which the Stones/lang situation certainly was. Or the Harrison/Chiffons. Or the Petty/RHCPs...

Or the Fleetwood Mac/Paul Simon (much discussed on KFOG a couple years ago)

"Peacemaker" uses a melodic snippet from "Kodachrome"

there's also the GrassRoots and the Drifters, to go back much further.

UGH!

Foghead had these choices:

Smiths, "What Difference Does it Make"
Echo/B-men "Killing Moon"
Bananarama "Cruel Summer"

and the eedjit chose "Owner of a Lonely Heart".  Off with his head!

Looks like Annalisa gave this dweeb every opportunity to pick a cool tune. Hope his or her friends give this bonehead merciless shit for the rest of the day. That's just inexcusable.

This is a set I like. None of them I hate. A couple I don't remember. I few I like. My BOS would be the Talk Talk tune. I would have to say my least favorite (though I don't hate it) is the incredibly soft Cars song "Drive".
