My response was no joke at all; I really dug their stuff, including TLIYL!

Bam-a-lam! "Black Betty" makes her 2nd appearance of the week -- the short version this time. This was actually a UK hit twice: first in '77, when it hit #7, and again in a "remix" in 1990 when it got to #13. (In America it only reached #18.)

here's a rarity: Crispian St Peters (of "I'm the Pied Piper" fame) doing the UK hit version of "You Were on My Mind", an American hit for the We Five.
New to me, and a little less "poppy" than the version we're used to.

I've long been curious to hear that.  Forget where I heard about it, though.  Thanks for the relay.

just switched over to VIP in time for -- Babs, "Stoney End"!!  OMFG!  Still a fabulous pop single (it would've made today's wonderful '71 set even moreso) and a revelation at the time, especially to 15-year-olds like me who thought Streisand was an old lady who appealed to even older ladies.

ETA: followed by, OMFG2, Lulu, "Leave a Little Love".

another station to try:

www.kcdx.com

they're in Phoenix, they're a classic rocker, more or less, with a very wide-ranging playlist.

I just switched over to these guys and the first song is Trower, "Bridge of Sighs".... followed by Poco, "Good Feelin' to Know". That's impressive.
