I'd vote for Bruce Vilanch as Herod.

I love his groups the "Manfreds" and "The Mighty Quintet".  But what is "tanc"?

I saw Bruce in "Hairspray" on Broadway.  He was great.  I like the beginning of his bio on nndb (I don't know what that is...): "Bruce Vilanch is an enormous, bearded, gay Jewish gagwriter..."  I have a feeling that puts him in a class by himself.

This was the 28th 1969 set to make it into my Db, and the 18th during my continuous record era.  Overall both "Plynth" and the Steam song have appeared in 7 out of 28 total.  In the past 27 months Steam has appeared in 5 of 18, and Beck in 4 of 18.  But Beck was in there last time, just 1 month ago.

as opposed to TANJ, which we haven't really used, but which I mutter under my breath from time to time, which means There Ain't No Justice.

Is that pronounced "tange" or "tanzh"?

I say it "tange", and I my usual expletive is TANJ-it, inflected precisely as in "dammit".

Surprisingly no, Dave hasn't played it in over 2 years, and this is only it's second appearance in afforementioned 28 sets.  He plays "Baby, Now That I Found You" quite a bit more often, but not enough to qualify as a Katrina either.

It just seems like a Katrina because it's so ubiquitous (commercials, oldies stations, movie trailers etc).
