WLNG Nugget o'the Day: Frankie Valli with Kenny Nolan's "My Eyes Adored You". Didja know Kenny Nolan also wrote "Lady Marmalade"? Talk about range!

and followed --OMGWTF! -- by Cher, "You Better Sit Down Kids".  Still my fave of hers.

OMG, I forgot he wrote "Get Dancin" (I bet the part about "my chiffon is wet, darlings" wasn't his, tho' ). And Jim Gilstrap's "Swing Your Daddy" is a CG and VIP staple that somehow missed out on being a hit in the US, but which has become a favorite of mine.

Been VIP-ing today; here's a new one on me: a woman named PP Arnold (who?) doing "First Cut is the the Deepest". Sure beats Sheryl Crow's version.

Followed by the Tams, "There Ain't Nothin Like Shaggin'"  (no, the Shag was a dance -- git yer mind outta the gutter!)

VIP Surprise of the day: "It Doesn't Have to Be That Way", the Blow Monkeys with one of their follow-ups to "Diggin Your Scene" --similar but quite enjoyable.

"Should I Do It" is an uptempo early-'60s-style thing, complete with nifty sax solo.  Think "He's Sure The Boy I Love" and others of that Phil Spector ilk. In fact, I'd've loved to've heard Darlene Love cover it.

Willie Nelson's version of "The Maker" now.  I have never heard this on the radio! If you missed it, and want to hear it, email me.

Leon Russell's "Stranger in a Strange Land"

Is it true that KFOG never plays this?  It was a total KSAN staple back in the day.

I've never heard it in regular rotation, or on 10@10.

Been CG-ing, and Dean just played guitar rave-up version of "Sabre Dance" by Love Sculpture, Dave Edmunds' early band.
