1 August 2018: it's... When Good Artists Go Bad!

8/1:

On today’s edition of Soundwaves 10@10, we’ll hear songs from iconic artists who all had one
thing in common: they thought they were to the point in their careers where they could stretch,
or experiment, or grow lazy — or worse, cover classic songs! From Madonna and Tom Jones, to
Michael Jackson, Elvis and Styx, these are the moments when it all went wrong!

Wow, I take *GREAT* exception to the Tom Jones selection -- his version of "Kiss" is awesome. The rest are pretty much crappy. (Tho' Neil D's "Heartlight" is a guilty pleasure for me, and "In the Ghetto" gets a pass for being from a different time)

Agreed on Jones. I honestly think "In The Ghetto" is one of the best songs Presley ever did. "Both Sides Of The Story" may have been a bit over the top, but I enjoyed it, and I've never understood the hate for RHCP.

I will say that the Sheryl Crow and Madonna covers were absolute embarrassments.
