This (The Power and the Passion) could be worthy of a BOS vote--their first US chart appearance, yes? In the heat of Rock of the Eighties.
Let's get right to it.

Urth - glad you're feeling better.

Re: fundie Christians: indeed.  I'm utterly fatigued at the notion that Americans, particular Christian Americans, can do no wrong and that to suggest otherwise is somehow unpatriotic or even treasonous.

Don't recognize this "power and the passion" song.  Sounds like Midnight Oil, were they around then?

BOS so far for Midnight Oil. I dug this song back then.

how many albums did they make between '83 and '88? "cause I swear I don't remember hearing them on the radio again until "Beds are Burning".

This Phil and/or Genesis song makes me sleepy.

At least we're not suss-suss-suddio-ing today.  BTW, what is a "Sussudio"?

(shrug) I dunno. I just like 'em. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a tamborine seminar to attend (it's being taught by gypsies!)

You should know that Ol' Dirty Bastard covered that song.

And it's not half-bad.

Well, a Jim Capaldi appearance was inevitable this week.  A lovely remake.

Why on Earth would someone do a cover of "Sussudio". Why would a little girl name her horse "Sussudio" for that matter?

God, I hate that song.

I wonder if a black hole would spontaneously open up if Dave played the stunning and unfathomable Marc Almond and Gene Pitney's "Something's Gotten Hold of My Heart."

Snoozers so far.  No BOS from me.  I need "No Parking on the Dance Floor."

some different stuff.  Maybe "I'm Still Standing" or "I'll Tumble 4 Ya" or "Pass The Dutchie"... Has Dave played "What About Me" (Moving Pictures) before ?
