Y'know, to me, Ziggy Stardust is another of those "perfect" albums they were bandying about this morning, so why the hell do we always hear the same three songs on 10@10? C'mon--Five Years fer cryin out loud. Starman is great too, but it's nearly the Katrina that ATYD is.

I enjoyed that discussion immensely, and even perversely enjoyed the woman who called in to vote for Foreigner IV & The Immaculate Collection.

After Renee said Beggar's Banquet & someone else said Let It Bleed, I wrote the following email:

"I think the Rolling Stones basically made 4 perfect albums in a row, so you gotta add Exile On Main Street & Sticky Fingers.

A perfect album for candlelit romance is Avalon.  If you can't seduce someone with that album on, then frankly they couldn't be seduced.

And a perfect, if not THE perfect live album is Waiting For Columbus."

Aretha's end is a bit too large to be tasteful

Alas, I'll miss the first airing (10am meeting) myself. But, "cool" for seeing Walk The Line on Friday! Enjoy.

I'll be list'nin' in the car (if the signal holds) on my way to Sacto for a lunch meeting. On the way back I have to go take the Anheuser-Busch brewery tour in Fairfield.  Have to.  As part of my job.  Really.  No kidding.

As did I. Totally agreed with the PD when he mentioned Stevie Wonder's early-mid 70s trilogy (Talking Book/Innervisions/Fulfillingness). I tried to get thru to mention Richard and Linda Thompson's Shoot Out the Lights, but just got a busy and didn't have time to dial repeatedly. But it certainly is. Perfect, that is.
Let's get right to it.

So Annalisa's quiz was THE classic Shelley Winters clip from Poseidon Adventure, y'know, "in the water I'm a VERY skinny lady". You had to identify her -- first caller says, "is it Daryl Hannah?" (Ms H was, what? 11 years old in 1972?)

Who ARE these freakin' people?

nice Bonus, tho': "Celluloid Heroes".
