I'm assuming they'll be in Mon-thru-Fri order...

That's a good question - I want to say that on occasion they did run in order, but more often than not it was a case of "52 Pickup".

Heh.  Often DM or AL would take requests (which usually amounted to "play that crappy '90s set first at 6am while I'm still asleep"). Something tells me they'd like to avoid that this time around but I'm happy to be wrong.

If memory serves, when the marathon debuted oh-so-many years ago, it basically ran 6-10AM. At some point, maybe around 2005-2006, it got moved back to ~7-11AM. I think it was because folks complained about how early it was.

That sounds right. I also recall when they first were planning the marathon, they asked Fogheads to vote when they wanted it to run: early Sat AM, 10PM Sat nite, or Sun nite. And Sat mornings won the vote.

I'm assuming they'll be in Mon-thru-Fri order...

That's how I recall it too, although the order was always strictly random, at least in the DM era. I don't recall how they were sequenced after AL took over.

The one thing that's kind of interesting in the wording of her announcement is that the sets will start at the top of each hour. Previously they just ran one after the other, with a significant commercial break between each one, which was how they got 5 days of sets to fit into a more-or-less four-hour time slot. This way, they're actually going to run longer than earlier marathons.
Let's get right to it.

And I actually think that's better -- you know when a set is starting, even if you don't know what set it is.  Reminds me of the olden days when they'd do " Classic 10@10 Weekends" with a  new set at the top of the hour from 10a to 10p all day Sat & Sun.

woke up at 8:45 heard the tail end of '99, followed by '88 and now at 10:00 it's the 1970 "encore" which was my fave of the week so I'm glad to hear it again.
