AL hasn't posted a request thread yet (nor has she posted what was BOS for the '87 set).

I won't be here but I'm guessing (continuing the Giants playoffs theme) either 2000 or 2002.

ETA: Just posted - we're visiting Willie McCovey's "last full season" as a Giant. So, 1979?

Yep. Somewhat ironically, there was an SF Chronicle article awhile back that suggested this was the worst year for Bay Area sports.

I listened. Rise was the big GS crowd pleaser today.  I will always think of the ABC soap General Hospital when I hear that song, as the heyday of Luke & Laura features some drama around that tune.  The Clash was awesome, and the guitar riff was reminiscent of a B-52s song (I'm thinking Party Out Of Bounds?)  The Ry Cooder tune was a mess, IMHO. I know he has cred, etc., but he's never grabbed me.  Never tire of The Cars Let's Go (or any Cars for that matter, cue Mike snark in 3 ... 2... 1).  At least we got the long guitar solo version of My Sharona, a fab song.

Joe Walsh can almost do no wrong. and the Eagles were lucky to get In The City for their The Long Run album, which desperately needed it.  Nice ZZT as the BOTHK.  Sadly, this set featured no Rush: They took a year off to become even more awesome.

Per AL in FB, 2-way tie for BOS between The Clash and Herb Alpert.

No surprise there; I always get those two songs mixed up.
