"Jane's Getting Serious" -- a onetime Moreytrina we haven't heard a lot of recently, iirc.

"Greed is Good"/Wall St crash --> Tom Waits!  BOS3 "Cold Cold Ground"

Woooot! An easy BOS pick for me, but I can just picture the whinging going on in Snipetown.
Let's get right to it.

yeah, the Waits-haters are probably out. But this has been a very rock-oriented set so far, as usually happens in late-'80s visits. And 3 BOSes is a lot for me in that era.

Princess Bride wedding --> Sting "Be Still My Beating Heart". BOS4, this one strikes me as fairly rare, tho' I could be wrong.

ETA: it is rare: played once by AL in 2012 and once by Dave in an '80s Vertical Tasting in 2006 (!)

and it's followed by Sting on SNL as "GoldSting"

Actually it wasn't too bad, only a couple of sarcastic cracks from one or two folks (I'll let you guess who). But the participation over there seems to be off a bit the last week or two. Possible that some of the Snipes are moving on?

It's the preponderance of '90s and late-'80s sets recently, i think

Ah, good point. One does seem to have occurred in response to the other.

Overall however, today's set has been not bad at all. The deeper cuts (Waits, T'Pau, Peter Wolf, Joan Jett, even Sting) have pretty much balanced out the FFs.

Giants clinch the West --> ugh... "Touch of Grey", one of the true uber-LNs of '87.  Well, ya can't have everything.  But overall, one of the better '87 sets in a while.

I remember being at Candlestick when they played this song between innings.  It really rocked the crowd.  Great song, even if a bit obvious.

Wow, AL played two of my requests (Joan Jett and T'Pau)!  Gotta listen on SoundCloud later today. :)

Possibly, but I think urth's comment might be more spot on.
