Fargo clip ("The little guy was funny looking;" "The other guy was a little older. He kind of looked like the Marlboro Man.")--> Lush, Ladykillers

I'm having web player issues -- can't get either the Tunegenie or streamtheworld players to connect, so I guess I am SOL today. It'd be worse if it weren't '96, but I guess there's always Soundcloud later if I decide I gotta hear it.
Let's get right to it.

Fargo: "Oh ya?" "Ya." --> Dishwalla, Counting Blue Cars

I'm sorry, but I thought this was a terrible song then, and the intervening years have done nothing to change my opinion.

Eleanor McEvoy, Precious Little

I've never heard this before, I don't think. It's very KFOG-y.

News report on Carl Sagan's death --> Oasis, Wonderwall

This one's for the homies, I think.

10 at 10 goes to the movies: That Thing You Do trailer --> The Woners, That Thing You Do

Another one for the homies (meaning I believe the song was requested by a g-snipe, current or ex).

indeed, I nearly gagged when I saw it, since KFOG plays it 15 or 20 times a week these days. Very sheesh-worthy choice.  Tho' the Dishwalla, 10@10-wise, is quite a Katrina iirc.

First four songs were Luscious Jackson, Naked Eye; Jon Mellencamp, Key West Intermezzo (I Saw You First); Fiona Apple, Criminal; and Counting Crows, A Long December. Apparently there was another Fargo clip before Counting Crows.

This set was weak. I don't have a BOS.

Yeah, that was quite an LN-fest, except for the Lush and the Eleanor McEvoy, which are relative rarities. (We heard the McEvoy once previously... in a 1997 set.) And I do lurve "That Thing You Do".    I seem to say this for every '90s set but ... not sorry I missed it.

Be interested to see if we're back to the pattern tomorrow & Fri (which would mean an early-'70s and an '80s) -- '72 is due, as is '88.
