Can't get much more cowbell than "Grazin' in the Grass". Excellent set.

Dang -- and I'm not near a radio right now.  I'll have to catch it later on SoundCloud.

FB is being wonky and not allowing me to cut-and-paste the setlist but it looks (to my admittedly jaded eyes) like a couple of possible-bustout gems (Spanky & Our Gang!) nestled amongst a collection of pleasant but mostly rather well-worn stuff. I adore "Waterloo Sunset" but we've heard it a LOT here.  Ditto "Grazin'..." which I also love.

Hmmm, AL hasn't posted today's set on SoundCloud yet.  Guess I'll have to tune into the rebroadcast tonight.

ETA: Per AL on FB, The Beatles (yay) "Dear Prudence" got BOS.

Turns out the Spanky & Our gang tune wasn't a bustout... and obviously neither was anything else, tho' the John Fred is a rarity.

Some of the obvious long songs for 1968...

Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Chile
Cream - Spoonful
Iron Butterfly - In-A-Gadda-Da-Vidda
Procol Harum - In Held 'Twas In I

10/2/14 - Thursday!  It's 1968...

1. Who - Magic Bus
   (Movie:  Chitty Chitty Bang Bang)
2. John Fred & His Playboy Band - Judy in Disguise (With Glasses)
(Movie:  2001:  HAL suggests Dave take a stress pill and think things over)
3. Johnny Nash - Hold Me Tight
4. Beatles - Dear Prudence (BOS)
5. Kinks - Waterloo Sunset
   (Movie:  Barbarella)
6. Doors - Love Street
7. Spanky & Our Gang - I'd Like To Get To Know You
8. Traffic - Feelin' Alright
(Martin Luther King:  "Somewhere I read...")
9. James Brown - Say It Loud (I'm Black and I'm Proud)
(News:  Tommy Smith and John Carlos give the black power salute at the Mexico City Olympics)
10.Hugh Masekela - Grazing in the Grass
(TV:  Dragnet:  "Marijuana is the flame, heroin is the fuse, LSD is the bomb...")

No bustouts... rarities include John Fred, Spanky, and the Traffic tune, but just about everything
is in the low to moderate spin category, save for Grazing in the Grass.  It's set to enter the
Twenty Plus Club, even without the Friends of Distinction cover.

My BOS vote goes to the 5-star, double-rated, astro-navigatrix Earth girl!  Oh yeah, some of
the seques have been used before.  In particular, the Barbarella clip has been used before three
or four different "love" songs.

If I was going to make a 1968 request, it would be for their shorter Shine On Brightly,
another prog-FM regular.  Procol Harum is on my short list of Artists I'd Like To Hear More Often
On 10@10.
