Had to mention the perfect use of the Nashville Teens' "Tobacco Road" at the end of the Season 4 opener of Mad Men. (The lyrics are practically Don Draper's bio).

Tonight 9pm on PBS Ch-9: McCartney's White House gig from June, with guests Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello, more, followed at 10:30pm by 'How the Beatles Rocked the Kremlin'

Soul Train (which has been moved to 10:00 much to my chagrin) reruns an all-James Brown show with Maceo, Fred Wesley and the fabulous Lyn Collins, a vision in gold lame doing "Rock Me Again and Again and Again and Again and Again and Again"

Damn -- this show is awesome! The clips are wonderful. Johnnie Taylor doing "Who's Makin' Love?" in the greenest green suit I have ever seen.  Ree-Ree looks a bit worse-for-wear, esp contrasted to her '60s self doing "Say a Little Prayer" in a rainbow mini-dress.

the basic concept of the show was clichéd, but still riveting.  The clips are awesome documents.  I enjoyed watching Otis Redding, and seeing a young Duck Dunn and Steve Cropper riffing behind him, for example.
