just heard "All You Need is Love" (not the Beatles) used in an ad for Chase credit cards.

That one's been around for a while. And BTW, we have a separate thread for songs in commercials

That's not a thread about real commercials, but hypothetical commercials!

It started out that way, but trust me, that premise only lasted for a couple of posts and it soon became the "Songs in Commercials" thread.

Bowie on KTEH

pretty good production values, but for me, he peaked in '72 when I saw him at Winterland.  Great show.  Openers were Sylvester and Flo and Eddie.

Wow, Sylvester in '72? That was years before he had a record deal.

He was a big star to us local yokels.  I also saw him at Longshoreman's Hall opening for Joan Baez and Country Joe.  I believe it was a benefit for Vincent Hallinan.

Sat nite on KQED: a gay old time (literally), with showings of Ms Streisand's classic '60s CBS-TV specials, My Name is Barbra and Color Me Barbra.  And at midnight: Victor/Victoria.

Just to keep it from being TOTALLY gay, they're showing a Los Lonely Boys concert at 11.

Hope y'all saw The Simpsons tonite.  Bart takes up drumming as therapy and becomes famous playing jazz (much to Lisa's chagrin). Cameo by the White Stripes.  But Bart gets bitten on the arm by a tiger (don't ask) and his drumming days are over.  Line of the week: "I was a great drummer but now I'm nothing -- just like Phil Collins!" LOL!

I wanted to see that.  I'm glad YouTube is my VCR.

Already there, no doubt.

Kudos to you for being the only one to pick the Saints tonite. What were the rest of us thinking?
