although I heard the first 2 on an AT40 Aug 1970 show this weekend, I won't complain since 10@10 can always use more soul. "Apeman" is pretty well-travelled here, as are the Joni and (probably) the Zep. In all, not bad and I look forward to the replay. As dischead noted, it is a year with a gazillion possibilities -- we could've easily gotten 10 bustouts that would not have been obscure in the least. I repeat my contention that New PD Guy is > DC. (but get back to me after we see who he hires for mornings)
Once again, [complaint #8], although as noted we did get some rawk at the end. Overall though, it was still [complaint #3].
Dig A Pony was played on the last visit to 1970 on June 5th, and we also got
Cecilia from S&G's Bridge... in that
set as well.
Over the past few weeks I've been making notes and accumulating potential tracks... I can assemble a list of ten
artists who had releases in both 1970 and 1971 and create a set of bust-outs from the same ten artists for both
years. Admittedly, some of these groups -- like Jethro Tull, Chicago, Paul McCartney, The Doors, Joni Mitchell -- are
a bit obscure...
