Easy Rider --> "Can't Find My way Back Home".  I'll give this a BOS4.

I've never listened to the Blind Faith album, but I'm under the impression it was roundly panned. This is a brilliant song.

I don't recall it getting bad reviews. I'll have to research that.

from "Mah-na-mah-na" to "goo-goo barabajagl" -- segue of the day.  BOS7 Donovan/Jeff Beck.

BOS6 "mah-na-mah-na"

The Sesame St. version of that one, no? Certainly not the Sweden: Heaven & Hell original.

Cute that she dropped a quick "mah-na mah-na" into the beginning of Barabajagal.

Sodden thought: Did Mah-na Mah-na count as a song, or just a clip?
Let's get right to it.

VHM "Hey Bulldog"

BOS and a surprising rarity, with only one previous unique appearance on 10@10.

VHM and LN for "Everybody's Talkin'"

Still enjoy hearing the song myself. Now, the Fred Neil original would be something.
My thoughts exactly!

Sounds like either revisionist history, or a Rolling Stone review!

Easy Rider ---> Blind Faith "Can't Find My Way Home"

"Oh yeah, that's right.  That's what it's [freedom] all about all right.  But talking about it and
being it, that's two different things.  I mean, it's real hard to be free when you are bought
and sold in the marketplace.  'Course, don't ever tell anybody that they're not free, 'cause
then they gonna get real busy killing and maiming to prove that they are.  Oh yeah, they
gonna to talk to you and talk to you and talk to you about individual freedom.  But they see
a free individual, it's gonna scare 'em."

OMFG!  BOSBOSBOS

First of all,    Can't Find My Way Home is one of the greatest songs EVAH.  It's topped
only by their Sea of Joy, Had to Cry Today, and Cream's White Room.

And while Do What You Like isn't up to par with the rest of the album, the other five tracks
are all phenomenally excellent, and it's hard to imagine you haven't heard them before.  I own
more individual copies of this album than any other, except Cream's Wheels of Fire.  Even with
just those five songs, the Blind Faith record is hands down one of the top five rock albums of all
time.

Of course, we all say and think dumb things on occasion.  For example, in my youth I considered
Led Zeppelin to be a second-tier band.  In the fullness of time, I've come to grant them first-tier
status.

This could be so great, but I've developed some low expectations for anything from the 60's.  It has tended towards the touristy tracks.

I heard a lot of great stuff on today's show, but there were no bust-outs, big name or otherwise.
So once again it was both a very pleasant listen and a disappointment as the year's huge potential
for new material was ignored.
