MTM --> "One Less Bell", the 5-D. BOS6 just because Mick LaSalle hates it.  ;)

This and the Melanie tunes qualifiy as some pretty nice nuggets in my book.

Hell, girl, you know why he left? 'Cause you only made him one egg for breakfast!

plus he liked scrambled, not fried

which was LaSalle's complaint: "NOBODY ever fries just ONE egg!"  And that apparently invalidated the entire song for him.

More evidence that he's a bonehead: The concept of poetic license is totally lost on him.

(I just brought it up as a joke, I still think it's a great song.)
Let's get right to it.

ha, valid complaint, but still a nice song.  Love me some Bacharach/David.  I have quite a few Dionne Warwick LPs.

This reminds me of a movie they showed us in middle school (The Secret, maybe, or the Secret World or something?).  I just remember an early scene at breakfast, the patriarch of the family was served one soft boiled egg and the boy (the focus of the story) watches with envy as his father eats it.  Because only the father gets an egg...  Just one.

I'm sure he hates Duran Duran's "Wild Boys"

And your telephone's been ringing while you're dancing in the rain

LaSalle: And THAT is why you need an answering machine.

Well, hopefully you can take some comfort in the fact that the song that's on auto-repeat in your head also took BOS for today's set.
Let's get right to it.
