VHM Woody & Dianne Wiest.

BOS2 Mr Palmer's Cherelle cover. Faboo.
Yeah, this is a good one. I've never heard of Cherelle.

I'll have to include the original in a '84 set.

AL seems to having lots of fun during the backsell, something which I never sensed with RR.

And I appreciate that she doesn't feel the need to obsessively list EVERY SINGLE SONG NUMBER like RR did.
Now I'm eight bits...

True. She actually likes what she does, and it's infectious, even when the set in question is diappointing.

Here's the rundown.

3/18/14 1986
1. I Wanna Be a Cowboy - Boys Don't Cry
(Reagan/Contras)
2. I Still Believe - The Call
3. Take My Breath Away - Berlin
4. Blue Hotel - Chris Isaak
(Andy and Fergie get hitched)
5. September Gurls - Bangles
6. Behind the Wall of Sleep - The Smithereens
(Woody Allen & Dianne Wiest-Hannah and her Sisters)
7. I Didn't Mean To Turn You On - Robert Palmer (BOS!!)
(Pretty in Pink)
8. To Be A Lover - Billy Idol
9. Wildest Dreams - Moody Blues
10. Paranoimia - Art of Noise

Can't say I was over the moon about this set, but outside of the Call tune, it managed to avoid most of the usuaLN suspects. My BOS is Smithereens.

You were working in media in the 80s and therefore were more in tune with advertising and pop culture?  because I don't think it was overhyped.  Either that, or I bought into the hype.  I liked the show.

Paranoimia - I saw the Art of Noise around this time, maybe 1987, at the Ritz.  The dude in the band took off his tie and put it on his head, like he was an investment banker getting CRAZY.  Kinda ruined it for me.

BOS Bangles

The show, despite a barrage of publicity by ABC, flopped. (at least on this side of the Atlantic; it was pretty popular in the UK) And yet we had Max Headroom making a record with Art of Noise... Max Headroom doing Pepsi commercials... and so on. People over 30 were like, "whotheFUCK is Max Headroom??"  Seemed like overkill to me, considering how shortlived the MH phenomenon was.
