Tue 8/21/12: Cover Me

let's hope there's a few gems here.

Brooooce's Mitch Ryder medley is a decent start. VHM.

John Cougar Mellon'de'cello covering Van the man is rather snoozeworthy at this point.

EJ, "LSD", VHM -- feat Dr. Winston O. Boogie.

Molly Hatchet, "Dreams I'll Never See" -- Allmans cover. I'd much rather hear the orig.

Stones ain't too proud to cover the Tempts. VHM.

uber-LN: the Doobs find Jeebus. Also LN-ish: the 'oo "Summertime Blooze"

VHM VH -- better their version of "Dancing in the Street" than Jagger/Bowie.

I shot the Crapton with a WOS.

eeek: Styx doing a medley of CSNY's "Find the Cost of Freedom" and Blind Faith's "Can't Find My Way Home" -- uh, because both songs have "Find" in the title? Wha?

Springsteen - Devil With The Blue Dress/Good Golly Miss Molly
John Mellencamp - Wild Night
Elton John - Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
Molly Hatchet - Dreams I'll Never See
Rolling Stones - Ain't Too Proud To Beg
Doobie Brothers - Jesus is Just Alright
Who - Summertime Blues
Van Halen - Dancing in the Streets
Eric Clapton - I Shot the Sheriff
Styx - Find the Cost of Freedom/Can't Find My Way Home

Wed 8/22/12: 1987

yikes, this can't be good. Can it?

George has his mind set on an uber-LN; Lindsay and the Mac get it up for big big love.

Take back Tom Petty. Take back this uber-LN.  WOS1 "Jammin Me"

WOS2 Whitesnake.

Robbie Robertson's "Showdown at Big Sky" gets an HM for not being "Somewhere Down the Crazy River"

WOS3 Aerosmith.

"Sweet 'Trina o' My-eye-eyn"

uber-LN3: INXS.

One of the saddest stats in chart history: the godawful "Shakedown" was Seger's only #1 single.  WOS4.

uber-LN4: U2.  And ya give... and ya give.... Man, this set was painful.

George Harrison - Got My Mind Set On You
Fleetwood Mac - Big Love
Tom Petty - Jammin' Me
Whitesnake - Is This Love
Robbie Robertson - Showdown at Big Sky
Aerosmith - Angel
Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
Inxs - Need You Tonight
Bob Seger - Shakedown
U2 - With or Without You

Fri 8/24/12: 1968 redux

a year that cannot suck (but if we get "Hey Jude" and "Born to be Wild" again this morning I'll be pissed).

Always a BOS for "Classical Gas", it's a flash flash flash.

BOS2 Jimi on the wing; BOS3 BJ on a feeling.  Caught him on that PBS pledge-drive "Country Pop" special and he still sounds great.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! uber-LN "Hey Jude" means bathroom break.

Psychedelicized BOS4 Chambers Bros (will it be the loooong version?)

VHM Fever Tree. Out here it's summertime, but you'd never know by the temperature.

Whut can a po'ah bo'ah doo? 'cept to BOS4 the Stones.

uber-LN2 Otis on the dokkadah bay.

BOS5 Steppenwolf -- GodDAYUM da pusha mayun.

LN3:

Mason Williams - Classical Gas
Jimi Hendrix - Little Wing
BJ Thomas - Hooked on a Feeling
Beatles - Hey Jude
Chambers Brothers - Time Has Come Today
Fever Tree - San Francisco Girls (Return of the Native)
Rolling Stones - Street Fightin' Man
Otis Redding - (Sittin' On) The Dock of The Bay
Steppenwolf - The Pusher
Tommy James - Mony Mony
