« on: June 18, 2012, 01:19:04 PM »
hadn't listened to KPOO on Mon afternoon much since Judge left, but they're jammin' the '80s funk, y'alls.  "Planet Rock" -- HAAAAAAAAAY!

OMG: InDeep, "Last Nite a Deejay Saved My Life"

JJ spins the Isley's fab cover of "Lay Lady Lay" -- anyone who hates the Dylan version needs to hear this one.

LAWD a jazzy take on "People Will Say We're in Love" by... Etta Jones (no, not Etta James; Etta JONES)

Followed by Etta JAMES, "Stop the Wedding".

New fave to add to my rotation:

a soul oldies station from the Jersey shore. "Motown, sould, disco and old school" -- '60s '70s '80s, everything from the Supremes to Lisa Lisa. Nice mix so far anyway.  Heard Cher's "Take Me Home" earlier. And here's KC's "Give it Up"!

This station is great fun -- damn, here's Curtis Mayfield, "Move on Up", always welcome. Bite yo' lip and take a trip!
