I tell ya guys, I have a bad feeling about today's set.  It has DC all over it, like he wants to associate himself personally with the franchise.  No good can come of this.

I think the nature of the set idea put the playlist into a corner of sorts.

1. the songs need loud guitars/drums/keyboards (see my Rick Wakeman/Moog post)
2. the vocalists are at the top of their volume - lots of diaphragms got a workout in this one
2. the songs have to be pretty widely known.  Any song can be turned to "11" but the ones the audience wants to turn to 11 are the ones they're comfy with.  "Oh, I love this song!  Turn it up!"

I didn't need to hear DC's imitation of Nigel Tufnel!

I heard some guy doing voices, but I didn't know it was him.  Did AL say it was him?

ppfffttt... Ballroom Blech.

Please tell Steve I am not ready.

I was lying on my chiropractor's table with electrodes attached to my lower back, but did AL (intentionally) miscue the Ramones (I swear I heard "Hey Ho, Let's Go"), and then there was a break, and then Ballroom Blitz came on? Or maybe it was an issue with the San Jose repeater and the rain?

Back in the car, everything was copacetic, although goddamnit I forgot to tune back in when I got to my cubicle, so I missed #11 and the rundown.

Speaking of rain, did anybody else get tickets for the Black Keys tonight in San Jose? (I got mine at the Microsoft Store, not from KFOG.  I hope the KFOG ones are better because waking up at 5AM to try to win was a f-ing chore earlier this week.)

I'm hoping it's still on (City College football arena -- just a few miles from us, but I've never been).

When I think of songs that go to "11", I think of the 70s.  I thought, for sure, that this set would be more 70s-centric.  Cheap Trick's "Surrender" would've been nice to crank up today.

That's what we all heard.  The rare board mini-flub.

Have fun at the Black Keys!
